In order to provide our members with a complete range of options, we have introduced two new options during the course of the year namely Maxima EntryZone, an entry level hospital plan for the young market and Maxima Exec which sits comfortably between Maxima Plus and Maxima Standard. In both these options we have maintained our promise of providing Real Medical Aid no matter at what stage of life you are. |

An unlimited GP benefit: members on most options can now look forward to unlimited access to GPs, even once their day-to-day benefits are exhausted by using a GP on the Fedhealth GP Network from 1 January 2011. This benefit will be available to members on all options except the Hospital Plans, which do not include day-to-day benefits by design. |

We have also been successful in our pharmacy negotiations and have set up a preferred provider network with fixed dispensing fees. At the end of the day all these measures are designed to help contain costs and keep medical aid affordable.

We have added more value to the Fedhealth Baby programme by including a Doula benefit. This provides the mother-to-be with the practical support needed to experience the wonder of natural birth. |

We are launching a major education and advisory campaign for members, supported by a strong wellness theme early in the new year. In addition, we will be making electronic health records available to each of our beneficiaries during the course of 2011 to assist your members in understanding and taking accountability for their own health status. |

In support of our wellness drive, we are kicking off the new year with the sponsorship of the first Fedhealth International Natural Health Conference, in Johannesburg and Cape Town. |

Lastly, we are happy to report that the Scheme has had an excellent year and that reserves at year end are at 28% and rising, way above the required 25%. |
